The film itself is the story of Roger Bannerman, reclusive rock star from the late sixties, and the obsessed fan who "stalks" Roger and eventually kidnaps him. Roger is part Syd, part Darryl and part "typical rock star". The creators of this film, producer and lead actor Darryl Read, and writer Bernard White, famed Syd Barrett afficionados, have managed to involve a number of people who knew Barrett and were key members of the sixties "scene" - Peter Jenner, Jenny Fabian, Nigel Lesmoir-Gordon (who shot the footage that became "Syd's First Trip"), and Richard Wright, amongst others. Richard Wright's main contribution was to give the rights to "Remember A Day", for Darryl and Bernard to use as the soundtrack - and also provided a very rare instrumental version which appears over the end titles! BarBara Wilder aka Ungerhofer plays the part of Emilyn in the newly added scenes shot in 2008. Emilyn (related to the Pink Floyd song Emily) is the personified fairy-look psychoses of the leading character Roger. www.madstarfilms.com/

At the Indian Film Festival Barbara Wilder was goofing of with Deep Roy. The two rocked the red carpet and celebrated Indian superstars.

Barbara Wilder's article, which was featured in the TRENDMAGAZIN.CH DEEP ROY stands only 1.32 meters tall but that did not hold him back to make very large and lengthy career in Los Angeles. As we speak, he’s on set, in front of the camera, working on the upcoming “Star Trek” film where he portrays the part of an Alien. Time is one thing that this talented actor does not have. All the more a reason for me to feel honored to be able to meet up with this extraordinary actor. He welcomes me in his home in a most friendly manner and immediately I recognize the images and posters hanging from the walls of his living room, showing scenes of his great successes. “Friends have them framed for me,” he tells me, in all modesty. This son of Indian parents began his career working as a stand-up comedian after his family relocated to the UK. He got his first television role in 1976 in an episode of the detective series “The Avengers / The New Avengers” (“The Avengers The Avengers”). In Wolfgang Petersen’s film adaptation of “The Neverending Story” he made his debut on the big screen as a tiny tot with a racing snail. In “How the Grinch Stole Christmas”, my personal all time favorite Christmas movie, DEEP ROY was acting next to JIM CARREY. ever since he’s been an an A-list actor and can be seen often at Hollywood’s main events. Despite his success, of which many can only dream of, he remained a very down to earth, loveable person. During the interview, he tells me that he loves to cook for himself and friends. “Of course all Indian food” he says and points to the pots in his kitchen. The look and smell is absolutely mouth watering… TIM BURTON is one of his confidants in the entertainment industry. DEEP appreciates him not only as a director but also as an artist and a close friend. With Burton, he has realized a number of film projects afterthe turn of the century. In addition to the remake of “Planet of the Apes” Burton also put him in “Big Fish”. And in the animated film “TIM BURTON’s Corpse Bride” (“Corpse Bride”) DEEP ROY was asked to be one of the voices in this magnificent film.

When asked what his favorite role was, he smilingly replies : “I liked them all.” However, his “biggest part to date” was in Burton’s remake of “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.” Enhanced with CGI, he was the model and blueprint for all staff in the factory, the so-called “Oompa Loompas”. For this role, Roy had to dance, sing and learn how to play various instruments. At the end of the interview, I ask him if there is something in Hollywood that has bothered him. He replied with a simple “No! I think it’s great here! “ Accordingly, DEEP ROY is in my eyes a prime example for the possibility that you can go far with a professional attitude and heart, even if there are obstacles to overcome.

Just around the Hollywood Boulvard Barbara Wilder visits Jeff Goldblum at the IVAN KAHN’S CAFE WAS. The two are chatting about Jeff's passion for Jazz music and the time, he started out in Hollywood.

Barbara Wilder's article featured in the TRENDMAGAZIN.CH 1986 JEFF GOLDBLUM had his breakthrough with his leading role in the movie “The Fly”. He’s been on everyone’s lips since “Jurassic Park” and “Independence Day” having been nominated for an Oscar no less than ten times, including a nomination for “Best Actor”. A lesser known side of this multi-talented man are his musical abilities and skills

Most people do not know that JEFF GOLDBLUM is an excellent piano player as well. For years now he’s been entertaining crowds with his Jazzband “THE MILDRED SNITZER ORCHESTRA” in Los Angeles. He can be seen playing Jazz classics from all over the world at his show at the IVAN KAHN’S CAFE WAS in Hollywood on Monday nights. The show starts around 9p.m. and with a very short intermission lasts almost three hours. You can honestly describe him as a down-to-earth and humble person and recognize his ability to become one with the music. His musical talent and the skills of his band members are shining through in joyful improvisations. Every week, guest musicians are honored to be a part of the show. Even KEVIN SPACEY was seen singing a song with GOLDBLUM. The level of musicianship is extraordinary and that’s the reason why the ranks of the audience members keep growing every week, as no one wants to miss out on this great musical experience After the performance I had the opportunity to chat a little with the 6’4 tall man. He greets me friendly with a tender handshake that would make any woman weak at the knees, not excluding this woman. As I am asking him, how long he has been playing with his band all over the country, he just smiles and says that it must be a while since he’s already forgotten and can’t remember the exact number at his age. A few jokes later he opens up a little and shares a little secret. His band was named after the charming LADY MILDRED SNITZER from Pittsburgh, (born in 1908).

After JEFF GOLDBLUM got rejected from the local acting school , she sent him to have a little talk with her brother in law, LOU SCHNITZER. He was one of the Old School Agents and one of the major players of his time and sent JEFF GOLDBLUM to New York, the rest, as we say, is movie history. The truth is, Jeff GOLDBLUM has been playing piano since he was a child and had we not known him as a Great Actor today, we might as well could have known him as a Great Musician Although the 59 year young is on the best way to actually spread the world in this regards. You are never to old to start a new career!
